Graduate unemployment: identify the causal chain

In the European Union, 23.2% of people ages 15 to 24 (roughly 6 million people) are unemployed (1). Surprisingly, EU youth unemployment is higher in countries where more young people have university degrees……

Youth unemployment in the European Union reminds us that there is a deepening mismatch between what the labor market needs and what the education system is producing. It is time to reform the current higher education system to prevent the most educated generation of young people from becoming a generation of the unemployed.
