Journal of Investigative Dermatology — 75th anniversary edition

There is a terrific series of articles on skin biology and dermatology published this month in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. Of course there is one by your’s truly written jointly with Rosalind Harding on the Population Genetics of Human Pigmentation, but there are great reviews on a whole range of topics: langerhans cells, clinical trials, epidemiology, filaggrin, photobiology, innate immunity etc. It is really a treasure chest and best of all it is not behind a paywall. The autobiographical account by John Parrish of a real discovery deserves special mention.

What would have been even better  would have been to critique the field: what has gone right and what has gone wrong. And what will the future deliver rather than promise. Next time perhaps!
